I am ready to get to business and do the work for our state! Thank you to my colleagues, who inspire me every day, and to retiring Majority Leader Gail Chasey, whose friendship and mentorship have blessed me for almost 20 years. www.santafenewmexican.com/news/legisla...

This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Without this Special Session, New Mexicans will see insurance premiums soar on the Exchange. We want New Mexicans to know, regardless of what happens in Washington, D.C., your state lawmakers are looking out for you.

Today I visited @IAIASantaFe in my district and it’s such a jewel. From studio arts to creative writing to museum studies, students are learning to create in ways that both honor tradition and push boundaries. Honored to witness the work happening in this incredible space. 🎨🖌️🖼️

Violence has no place in American political dialogue. I’m shocked to hear about the shooting of Charlie Kirk today, and I’m keeping him and all those impacted in my thoughts.

Vaccines should be available to those who want them. Once again, New Mexico is picking up the slack where the federal government has fallen short. Check DOH’s COVID-19 info page for updates. www.npr.org/sections/sho...
Concerned about federal vaccine policies, states are crafting their own
As federal health agencies change their approach to vaccine policy leaving access for COVID shots uncertain, some states are taking things into their own hands.

Trump sold out working people, cutting their healthcare and raising costs to pay for tax giveaways to the wealthiest Americans. We will not sit back and let cruel federal policy rob our neighbors of their healthcare and food security. www.governor.state.nm.us/2025/09/04/g...

We just passed HB586 in the House to create oversight of hospital mergers. NM is a top target for private equity—we must ensure these deals don’t hurt patient care or healthcare workers. Last year, we set up temporary oversight—now we’re fighting to make it permanent. tinyurl.com/2rkav4nc

First responders deal with PTSD, chronic pain, and high rates of cancer. But for more than 15 years, they have been barred from using medical cannabis to treat symptoms. We’re on the way to changing that with HB230 passing the House Floor tonight.

With Medicaid Forward, you & your family’s health care costs would never be more than 5% of your income, and lower wage workers wouldn’t have to worry about being kicked off their plans when they start making a few dollars more. This optional plan would be a huge improvement for many.
New Mexico lawmakers look to expand Medicaid access
Some state lawmakers know there's a lot of New Mexicans who just can't find coverage that fits in their budget, so they want the state to help out.
