Every couple years I pull out this book of NC Wyeth paintings. Taking time for slow viewing. This morning I was mesmerized by how he used the blue highlights on the heads of these two horses. Circa 1916.

A tiny example of using reference for inspiration not duplication. For those of your curious about the machine in the recent Arctic piece, it is inspired by the already ‘wonky' Tucker Sno Cat. I would love to drive one of those.
