Metroid – Meatball Upgrade – Preview Content: Weight Gain. Blob. Humiliation. Power-up Gone Wrong/Right Summary: Morph Ball. Doughball. Butterball. MEATBALL! Character(s): Samus Aran Samus Aran, Bounty Hunter, Legacy of the Chozo, took aim and fired a fully charged Power Beam at the immense shapeless mass of a creature that was in a panic state to reform itself before further harm could come to its delicate inner core. Too late. The shot blasted through it and what followed to Samus' relief was its gargled death cries. Deforming tentacles lashed out with such desperation and ferocity they were sending out great large globs of its own meaty flesh flying in every direction, splattering against the ancient stone floor, smashing into the high walls of the ruined arena with its many crumbling statues of those with a blobbish physique, and almost hitting Samus, but she stood her ground, unmoved, watching the final seconds of this creature's existence pass into memory. Its fleshy form melted away until what remained was an immense mound of meat, charred and sizzling, oozing outwards in size like a growing puddle. She gave the "carcass" a scan to confirm that it was dead and buried unlike the first time she'd encountered it not long after landing on this planet (KPRN13Y) and paid a heavy price for a moment of carelessness. For much of the time since then she had navigated the planet's many dangers using a Power Suit stripped back to its most basic abilities including even its Morph Ball function. So it came as a greater relief to Samus, standing at the centre of an immense crumbling arena to once symbolise this world's long ago prosperous age of culinary excellence, when her scan gave an all-clear that, yes, the creature was dead and the effort hadn't just been to buff out her dented ego. There was a power-up among the cooked remains that, if she switched off her suit's air filtration system, smelt strongly of cooking meatballs.

Samus wakes up to a rather sticky situation and has to chug as the water in the tank continues to rise.

This is the first time I've used a liquid sim for the entirety of an animation, it took a lot of fine tuning to get right.
