Things feel a bit stalled, so here are some of the images from the book.

I would appreciate any support, even if it is £1, but for £10 you can get a PDF and for £25 a perfect-bound book, and for £35 a hardback book, which includes delivery in the UK. Unfortunately, delivery elsewhere is added

Woke up in the night* to over 58% of the Kickstarter project funded, unfortunately, it was another scam. After marking the associated comment as spam, I am down to 6% funded.

I really need your help, and every small pledge really helps me reach my goal.

I wish I had known before I launched a Kickstarter just how many scammers would be emailing me, because it might have put me off the idea.

I have just launched a kickstarter in the last few minutes, for a book of all the National Coastwatch Institution's Buildings here in the UK.

Last week I found a book of 56 paintings I made for a pitch. It’s from 2021/22, made mainly on the sofa when my back wouldn’t stop hurting. But I think I want to look at selling it, and making a limited hardcover version through Kickstarter.

Been working on renovating my new study/painting studio

Hoping to start using the studio in two weeks time, still need to finish laying the floor, then sanding and putting a finish on.

Then fill the room with furniture and get to work.

Trying to work out my next move.

Feels like a flip-up between:
-Learning to draw people, animals and vehicles
-Focusing my practice on research (somehow)
-moving back to ceramics

One I think I would be good at, one is what I should probably do and the other feels impossible.

Autistic Burnout from 5 years ago still affects me today, I have all the resilience of a not very resilient thing.

Honestly people send me messages and I can’t reply I just get stuck in a spiral.

I want some sort of financial stability but instead I fall apart constantly.

Random print sold so I walked down to the post office to post it

Yesterday was day 3287 of drawing daily or 9 years on the dot of daily sketchbooks .

Got to keep going

Before it got warm this morning I sat out in the yard sketching.

A year ago someone I admire criticised the quick impulsiveness of my drawings and I struggled since with drawing around others and I haven’t been sketching as much as I should. When I’ve gone out I haven’t really sketched this year.

I am stuck in my business, & someone I was talking to suggested I speak to a mentor
I have had mentors in the past who have unfortunately passed away (one spurned the creation of the seaside saggar range)

The thing is, I don't think a mentor will answer the questions; I have to do that, & I can't

And I don't feel nostalgic about it, nothing makes me feel nostalgic, which might feel weird to anyone that looks on and sees that I make art that tries to connect to the history of places.

It is more about using the past to teach people about a place.
I had a quick look through the real archive. It's an early 2000s 1kg Celebrations tin filled with photographs taken in film, everything from classwork to weddings & when I was dating my other half to a 2003 H2G2 mini meet in York where we went to the York Dungeons.

All while I was young and hopeful

I've been working for myself for 15 years on and off for the last 15 years. Working for myself just generates more questions, and there are always fewer answers than there are questions.

And no one else has the answers I need, I have to find them myself, it feels hard, because it defines direction

I am currently working on a project I can't talk about and I shouldn't be working on...

I stopped showing my archive of work because it reminded me that I am a failure, that the only success I have ever achieved is the ability to keep going, but I feel like I have abandoned quality work time and again because I have never been able to find an audience.

Several bags of rubbish and empty boxs gone from my space and I am regretting ever producing so many digital prints of my work, there are a lot and I wish that I could just not have so many in my possesion.

But I feel the same about the small stack of frames and the shelves of canvas.
Today, I have been doing more spring cleaning. There is so much stuff around being an artist, and there is just too much of it. I wish I could just let it all go and start afresh.

Last year, I did the Fleetwood sketchwalks, and I made a series of colouring sheets for the project. After that, I was commissioned to make colouring sheets for the Fleetwood Civic Society.

I have failed to get my next round of funding for my next major project, and I have reapplied again.
