My government says I'm a cryptid!

They/them, neurospicy, storyteller, cat person, and a big believer in horizontal societies (not vertical, thanks). Holding out for that queer commune so I can homestead and homebody with my anime figures and comic books.
Rumor has it that covidtests.gov is not going to exist much longer.

Today's quest: vanquish the laundry, loot the groceries, cast "create feast" as a ritual, take a long rest.

Today's foes: brain fog, lymphatic nonsense, knees with opinions

Today's magic items and buffs: coffee, music, kitchen wheelie stool, lots of snark

Time to adventure.

Hey.
You have to *actively* practice joy.
Especially right now.
Go do a nice thing for you.
I don't care if you don't feel like it.
Joy is resistance.
Queer joy is liberation.
Go. Now. 💙

During the dress rehearsal of this administration (aka his first term), I promised myself I would stop reading sci-fi & fantasy written by cis straight white men. Now that we're living in an apocalypse, I find myself far better prepared and adjusted than I realized I would.

Thanks, Octavia Butler.

I am having Big Feelings (of the Potentially Unpopular Opinion variety) about Bishop Budde holding a service for Matthew Shepard, and I am struggling with finding the words to talk about it.

My dear internet friends, I say today, we do some reading. And may I humbly suggest a little history? Perhaps the CIA's declassified 1944 "Simple Sabotage Field Manual"? You can find it on their website!

Enjoy!

I think I'm entering my elder queer era.

I'm okay with that.

My darlings, they always felt like this. They always looked at us like this. They always wanted to treat us like this. Now they're just doing it out loud.

Stay here with me. We'll make it together. Do it for us, not them.

With Monday looming over all of my queer spaces, I am shocked at how many people are prioritizing their personal grief over our collective survival.

If we're going to get through this, we need to evolve. We need to organize. And we need to relearn how to be a community in more than just June.

Media and digital literacy are key to disrupting disinformation.

--clapping back/arguing just helps to amplify bad faith accounts & false material

--don't share "funny" disinfo to dunk on it; some will still believe it

--BLOCK, REPORT, and tell others to do same *without* sharing disinfo content
It was inevitable, but it’s still good to be aware that this is happening here, now.

If you see suspicious account/comment, remember: Don’t engage. Don’t argue. Don’t clap back. Don’t screenshot and share. Just block and move on.

I was introduced to this model regarding COVID precautions thanks to @poopraven.bsky.social and mentioned it in a talk yesterday. Honestly, this version may be going in the next version of the talk.
Cheese and self-care. My two favourite things.

I have deleted eight posts about the fire in California- specifically the Pacific Palisades one. Woooooooooooooof.

Another glorious morning. It doesn't make me sick, my meatsuit was busted long before this am. But it certainly doesn't help.

Comorbidity is hard. I finally slept for a decent night's worth and my body is so mad at me. Gonna be gentle with my bones today. Oof.

Blocking people I don't know feels nice. If this is the beginning of my cantankerous queer elder years, I'm going to have a delightful time.

Back in the very early days of Twitter, I took the character limit as a challenge and just tweeted everything in a haiku.
