Hiya! I'm Pill0wLava, a genderfluid artist of many media, scientist in training, and looking to understand the world's problems so I can begin working on their solutions.
Good morning!

I've been addicted to YouTube and also beginning the school semester so I haven't posted in a while.

Good news: someone reached out to me about Rocks Done Right, a Minecraft Mod I was working on and published last year, and we may start working on a new update to it!

Is this something? Am I doing something here?

I am going for a similar vibe to games like Formless Star or other comedic/cartoony video games that don't take themselves too seriously.

100%!

There's tons of tools for crafting data packs or throwing together the pieces for data packs. I'd personally recommended the recipe generator at crafting.thedestruc7i0n.ca and the world generation tools at misode.github.io

Many let you build the full data pack on the web then download it!

In contrast to the recommendation of @kezarus.bsky.social—learning and practicing discipline, which I certainly respect—I find Hank Green's advice resonates with me on a fundamental level, and describes a lot of how I approach my life.

As much as I love level crossings, I will say that slip lane level crossings are not the vibe

They're better than regular slip lanes, but they still encourage car-pedestrian conflict at dangerous speeds.

Now I really want to have a Minecraft playthrough with the Item Discovery mod

I may use a recipe randomizer or something to justify it a bit

Your phone is just one unlucky drop away from being unusable.

YOU are just one unlucky drop away from being considered "unfit for work" or "unfit for driving" and therefore undeserving of being alive (according to societal structures).

If y'all are interested, here's some rough gameplay footage of Field Test!

It's a /long/ way from completion, but I'm happy with these levels/level concepts so far

We live in a fascinating time where we have the knowledge base and the tools and technology to learn about and monitor the natural world just in time to try to save it from our own ignorance.

Not to discredit the tribes of human that have and had a deep and intimate understanding of their world.

Hang on, there's totally nothing stopping me from having my own cloud storage system is there?

Just like, get a low-end computer with some storage space, hook it up to the internet, get some kind of secure login and encryption set up (the hard part), and use that instead of Google Drive.

Post the first gif that comes up when you search your name

Battle for Dream Island? I haven't actually seen that series so I don't know which iteration this one is from.

I think it's worthwhile to sometimes ask ourselves what the words we use so often mean:

To my understanding, the fundamental point of a government—what they were invented for—is to be an organization specialized for protecting a group of people.

My step brother is now facing underemployment at the job he's had for a few years.

I think that's a sign that the economy isn't doing to well

I have endless respect for a channel on YouTube called The Octopus Lady

She does videos on various oceanic species with absolutely insane amounts of research and thought put into them.

I'd love to be at a point where I can make myself put that level of effort into things.

There is no circumstance in which cars are a reasonable mode of transit

There are circumstances where their flaws are less noticeable, but the utility they have is never more than that of actual transit.

I think Field Test will take quite a bit of inspiration from Will You SnAIl?

The level design, screen transitions, and hub world are a good mix, and I think something like them would fit here.

With how America was founded, you'd think it would have required classes in Middle or High school saying "here's the ways that totalitarianism can form and how to identify when it's happening."
