Every student in a Canadian history course who wants to write about Vimy should be forced to read @mike-bechthold.bsky.social thread on myths and realities first! After doing so, I wonder how many would abandon the topic #cdnhist #vimy
On this day in 1917 the Canadian Corps advanced together into battle and captured Vimy Ridge. It was easily their most famous (but not most important) victory of the First World War.
