it is interesting how little christian’s are aware of the origin of some of the scriptures. paul was highly educated and he quotes classical authors frequently. for example 1 corinthians 14:34 says ‘let your women keep silence in the churches’ and sophocles said ‘silence is a woman’s ornament’

aristotle said that the ruler of a people should be of the same form as their people though superior in some ways. this is why people everywhere have a natural aversion to being ruled by people or a person that does not look like them.
