Of course I'm loving the new Florence + the Machine.

"Licking my wounds, burrowing down
In a house in the woods on the edge of town"

Talking to my soul there.

I’m going to end up making a whole frog orchestra at this rate.

Please encourage me. 😂

Today I was watering the roses, glanced up to see a wedge-tailed eagle flying low a few metres away… followed by a scolding trio of currawongs.

Thorny devil earrings off to their new home! I do love making earrings for people who so obviously love our quirky wildlife too.

I kind of love this new piece. I made a little piece of Ocean Jasper into a frog and set him upon a moon. Sometimes you just have to embrace your whimsy.

Pippin decided to tweak my pony tail to see if it were really a tail.

I cast on a sock in between farm work. Anne Hanson's acorn pattern. I am having so much fun knitting this sock.

I'm up and down the back stairs and whenever I hit the ground, the magpie Papa comes dancing over either to ask if I've seen bugs or to show off the bug he caught for his two fledgings up in my backyard tree. Nope, never been swooped.

I've had a thought for about ten years and finally decided to have a little fun with the thought. So I made up a little imprint for myself. Or really, in honour of Wee Davie, the bestest boy whom I dearly miss. There'll be more news down the track.

The Fabled Magazine kickstarter has 13 days to go! It's already funded, but there's some great stuff there if you'd like to support a great new fairy-tale publication.

Disclaimer: I might have a little column in the magazine. 😆

I honestly didn’t know cattle had dust baths till I headed down to the dam with the boys and they began to have the time of their lives.

Today on my walk around the farm, I collected four-leaf clovers.

Once upon a time, I found four-leaf clovers everywhere, but then for years, not a one. I like to think this means magic is returning.

There's a lone magpie lark who announces the new day at 4am. Sigh... light pollution is putting them all out of synch.
Reducing light pollution at night helps migrating birds. Turn off the lights for them!

I opened my email this morning to a rejection of one of my short stories. I went ‘baaaaaaa’

I am now counting rejections in ‘rejection sheep’

I even drew my own.

This morning on the farm I stumbled upon an ancient hobbit hole.

It could be a good fixer-upper.

One thing I wish people knew about fairy tale? There is no evidence that Cinderella ever wore fur slippers. Platform shoes, red velvet shoes, gold and silver slippers, and - yes! - glass slippers. But not fur.

I think one of my favourite bits of writing is in Stella Gibbons' "The Matchmaker."

"The chickens, wild with unaccustomed freedom, were now legging it down the lane as hard as they could go, amid peals of hysterical chicken-laughter."
