🤖✨ Hey folks, I’ve been thinking A LOT about AI agents lately and how they may impact UX/UCD.

Back in the day, “user” meant a human in most cases. But what about now? #AI #UXDesign #UCD #UX

I read a paper in 2023, "The Curse of Recursion," which talks about how #AI trained on #SyntheticData can lead to forgotten information and cause a #ModelCollapse. It doesn't mention #Hallucinations, but later papers do.

Could #ChatGPT recent hallucination problem be related? 🤔

On GOV.UK, providing Welsh translations according to the Welsh Language Policy and standards is essential to public-facing digital services. So, which #AI understands Welsh?🤔

What's your experience?

I have been rereading about UCD vs. HCD.
Where UCD focuses on individual user needs for tailored solutions, while HCD takes a broader view, aiming to benefit society and the environment. Thought I would share🌍💡 #UserCenteredDesign #HumanCenteredDesign #UX

And it begins - getting mangled by AI.

Trainee today 'used the Internet' to find quotes by me to put into a presentation.

The quotes were plausible, and I even pretty much agreed with them.

The only snag: 5 out of 5 were things I definitely know I've never written. 100% AI invented.

Sigh.

Many can think of numerous risks with #AI. However, it's good to see that the UK is proactive in this with regulations and white papers. Like the National AI Strategy and the still-relevant UKGDPR. Though more work is still needed.
