My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...

Biologists now think there is a larger spectrum than just binary female and male

Just preordered it! Also bought Bitter Medicine since I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

FYI: ICE is posting up at Home Depots here in LA county and arresting work crews coming in to get supplies. If you know someone who needs to know this, pass it on.

The people who need to see this aren’t going to, but right now is a great time, if you consider yourself an ally, to shut up and listen to the people who are being impacted by everything happening right now. You should’ve been doing that already. It’s been serious. Now, it’s devastatingly important.

The closest I've ever come to following a trend in my life was the couple of months when I chewed Black Jack gum because of the movie Pump Up the Volume. I got over that pretty quickly BUT the movie also give us this excellent cover of "Everybody Knows" which I still listen to:

I'm a 50 year old midwesterner with 2 daughters in college. Been married for 26 years. I usually try to follow artists, authors, anyone creative really. Also follow and try to support lgbtqia+ and others. Mostly since I lurk you won't see much from me other then liking and occasional retweets.

So kid 1 asked why do I have so many followers on bluesky which confused me. I'm a lurker on social sites, rarely if ever posting. I usually turn off notifications. So I went and checked and there are 70+ of you amazing people! Since you're all so nice to follow me, I should say things about me.

Oh god! I can just imagine it now. To go along with the phrases that never leave my brain, 'I twisted myself up like the twisted ones,' or 'Pray that they are hungry', we'd get something like 'You think you're swimming alone, but you're not and they're watching you.'
