Never before in U.S. history has one man exercised such unbridled discretion affecting the lives of so many, while simultaneously preventing others — Congress, the courts, the American people — from having a say or even knowing what he’s going to do next.

This is dictatorship.

Corporate profits have hit record highs.

CEOs are paid 290x as much as a typical worker.

We're subsidizing huge corporations that pay lousy wages through food stamps and Medicaid.

But instead of cracking down on corporate greed, Republicans want to punish the working poor.

This is cruel.
In the 1980's & 90's I worked with People With AIDS.
I started & ran a drop in center for people with AIDS at a time they were being shunned.
I foster parented children with AIDS.
Most people with this disease died then.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but this analogy of “Lady Liberty’ held captive, is exactly how I feel about this presidency & administration and what their attempting to do with our rights and freedoms…

The New Yorker captured the feelings perfectly…

One word, UNACCEPTABLE!

Whether I’m in a union hall or on Bloomberg, the message is the same: raise taxes on the wealthiest individuals and most profitable corporations to invest in public goods for the many.

Demonstrations against Trump are getting larger and louder. This is absolutely essential.

But Trump’s regressive populism — cruel, tyrannical, bigoted, authoritarian — must be met by a bold progressive populism that strengthens democracy and shares the wealth.
Keep demonstrating against Trump — but also for a better future.
