Apophis isn't headed for Earth in 2029. But if it were, I think I can imagine now what it would look like to watch people cheer it on even though it was going to kill everyone.

There are days where I can't tell if an article is an Onion parody, or real journalism. And it's kinda disturbing to be honest.

I'm not mad at Americans spending on Black Friday, it's just annoying that no one is connecting this spending with the notion that people voted for Trump because of economic anxiety. One of the two of these things is likely not true.

I honestly have not delved into this too much since I first heard about it but...

...has anyone explained how tariffs work to Trump?

Or was that just a talking point for his campaign?

Yeah cause you weren't supposed to actually seek education, it was just supposed to be a readily available attack vector they used to squelch other discussions they didn't want to have.
When I was growing up, Reaganites were yelling at Black kids to "read a book" and "stay in school." That was supposedly their answer to the persistence of racism post-Civil Rights: we should read and get degrees. 🙄

Well, 2-3 generations have done just that. And they're mad about it. Furious!

Honestly, why wouldn't they do this? Nothing about them suggests strong ethical foundations or intellectual agility. Why wouldn't they engage in the a high risk low reward gambit to confirm Gaetz? I feel like we need to stop thinking there's a floor beyond even they won't sink. There isn't.
Wow, such brilliant political strategy! Take your small political capital earned in a narrow election victory to convince Senators to burn their reputations on a shady man apparently guilty of statutory rape.

I am here principally because I refuse to give any additional aid to Elon and his fanbase. I thought Threads could be that alternative, but it wasn't. Maybe this can.
