Dr. Jonathan Reiner on why he was alarmed by Trump's speech: "It was delivered with a manic cadence -- almost a frantic cadence ... it was disturbing to watch. It was disturbing because he's the commander in chief."

Statement on Kennedy Center Board Action: In 1964, Congress established the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as a living memorial to President Kennedy. Only Congress can change its name.

It almost goes without saying, but this is illegal. The name "John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts" is established by law and the board doesn't have the power to change it. 20 USC 3 §§ 76h - 76s.

It's designated by federal statute and can only be renamed by an act of Congress.

Stop just accepting what this bullshit administration says.

A vast and growing authoritarian cult of personality. Literally un-American in its lack of fealty to the norms of the country going back to Washington himself.

Republicans fought release of Epstein materials every step of the way, are now refusing to release the second strike boat video, and won’t let Jack Smith testify in public. They constantly hide everything they are doing from the American people.

Trump published this ad in 1987 only a few weeks after he returned from his first visit to the Soviet Union, an invited visit the Soviets paid for. The ad calls for the US to dismantle its military alliances around the world - a basic Soviet goal since 1945.
"Likewise, President Trump was a fan of his!" concludes the new White House Ronald Reagan plaque

Here's the full-page ad Trump ran during Reagan's presidency in 1987 claiming "let's not let our great country be laughed at anymore"

Founder of the Silk Road dark web marketplace, which facilitated over $214 million in illegal drug sales. Some of those drugs killed people.

Hakeem Jeffries has now become the de facto Speaker of the House-crafting bipartisan legislation which will lower health insurance costs for all Americans

During the government shutdown, Mike Johnson could’ve devised a plan to cut insurance payments. Instead, he took a 6 week paid vacation
Urgent update.

Our bipartisan petition to force a vote on a straightforward extension of the Affordable Care Act tax credits now has 218 signatures.

Mike Johnson should bring the bill to the floor immediately.

Donald Trump is easily the most pathetic president in the history of America

The fact that he feels the need to dishonestly insult other presidents to cover for his own massive incompetence is utterly pitiful
Per @garretthaake.bsky.social, the extremely tacky "presidential wall of fame" that lines the colonnade to the West Wing now has obviously-Trump-penned plaques insulting or praising the presidents.
