One of the brightest lights in motoring journalism went out yesterday. Thank you, Q for everything.
He was a passionate voice for motoring and consumer rights. Quentin dedicated his life to sharing his love for cars and helping people understand them, from classic combustion to modern electric. His kindness, intelligence, wit, and warmth will always be missed. Rest in peace, Q we love you.

My last session on the rooftop bar in my hotel at Lisbon

Loved my hotel in Lisbon (the PortoBay Marques), but my wall contained a daily reminder of the funicular railway that crashed last week.

In #Lisbon right now on holiday for the first time and seeing the steep gradients the streetcars have to negotiate up the Bairro Alto it makes the consequences of last week's crash all the more real.

America, this is how it's done. The French far right political fraudster Marine le Pen has been found guilty of embezzlement by a court and disqualified from holding public office. The French aren't afraid of holding power to account. Former President Sarkozy was found guilty of corruption in 2021

Two hours end to end from getting on a plane GLA-LHR counting ATC delays, taxi delays and then getting parked on a remote stand and getting bussed to the terminal. If you aren't connecting on, why would anyone suffer this over the train with the illusion that it is "faster"??

Elon Musk claims "the leftists" are bad-mouthing his company. This isn't true. It's ordinary car buyers who are fed the fuck up.

Is it just my imagination or does Facebook deliberately put the right wing comments on those random topics it puts on your feed to the top?

March 1st always brings a bit of optimism as it means that winter is now slowly transitioning into Spring. Boy we need it with all these dark political events happening around us.

Well the decision has been made. This year's late summer holiday is booked for Canada rather than the USA. We will of course be doing our usual NYC trip in March but what will America look like by even then???

The Petticoat Lane area in East London sums up beautifully the wealth gap in the UK. Shuttered shops, graffiti everywhere and a run down council estate just two blocks away from all the power and wealth of the Square Mile.

Posting from Scotland here. I just wanted to tell our American friends the rest of the world knows Trump does not define you. Your country & its spirit & generosity are far greater than the narrow minded bigotry & hatred of MAGA. We stand with you in these difficult days. You WILL win through.
