43 YEARS AGO, Madonna released her debut single, "Everybody." It's bittersweet to reflect on this image in 2025: The panorama of kids of color playing on the streets of NYC. Balloons reflecting a rainbow of diversity. A cop walking in harmony, upholding his duty "To Protect and to Serve."

Saddened to learn of the passing of a great guy and a true rock 'n' roll original, #ClemBurke. I was fortunate to see Clem perform with #Blondie and #Eurythmics, among others. Here's a photo of us at SXSW in 2008.

I was feasting on Dave Allen's (R.I.P.) basslines in 1983. I discovered #GangOfFour and #Shriekback at the same time and was drawn to their wit, passion & rhythms. I loved the whole musical package but it was "My Spine (Is the Bassline)" that made my backbone slip.
