Every time someone talks about "the planet" this week, I can only think of "Planet Caravan". Good bye old friend.

I come here once a week, and what I get on my feed is *a lot* more politics than I get on X. Totally unexpected...

Maybe because without an algo, I followed folks that are overly vocal, or all the folks I cared following are gone.

To me is about quality content. I don't have a "social" life.

I didn't know this: when I decompose all I like about Rock, it always somehow ends up in The Rolling Stones.

Social media sucks so much these days.

10 years ago, we had interesting discussions with actual friends you met in real life, all live and fun.

Now it's all fragmented. Some friends only do private Signal, others live in LinkedIn "posturing"... More here: x.com/ramirosalas/...

This is what folks should be doing Tuesday night…

Best easter dinner I had about 10 years ago was at The Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite, a multi-course meal entirely based on rabbit.

The irreverence and middle-fingerness tasted even better than the meal itself! 🤘

Friday, listening to 90s rock, when music was actually real, human-generated and a reflection of our rebellion, and watching 90 movies, when we still had values, cared about our institutions and even our heroes were true "good guys" in the end.

Sad to see the only prophetic movie was "Idiocracy".

For some unknown reason, Slash's album "World on Fire" disappeared from @qobuz.bsky.social completely breaking several playlists I have in @roonlabs.bsky.social .

This is why I'm actively trying to get physical copies of all the music I like (SACD or vinyl preferred).

The lyrics of 'War Pigs' are as relevant today as they were in 1970 when they were created.

We haven't learned anything.

Seriously, the guitar duo between Billy Gibbons and Slash in their version of Hoochie Coochie Man in Slash's "The Orgy of the Damned" is probably one of the best in rock history.

Customary Friday hard rock tweet...

I get some sh*t from folks that say Rock is dead. Hate to break it to you, but it ain't. This is just one... there many, many more.

The beauty of living in the Seattle area, is that Rock never left. It has always been here...

Customary classic rock Friday tweet: "Just as every cop is a criminal and all the sinners saints, as heads is tails just call me Lucifer 'cause I'm in need of some restraint, Pleased to meet you. I hope you guess my name..."

I'm really trying to like this platform, but so far, no joy. I'm following all my actual friends and a lot of folks in the area I care about (AI). Still, my feed is just... meh...
My twitter feed thou, after extensive cleanup, is a lot more fun.
I DO want an alternative, so I'll give this a chance.

Sometimes everything goes right in a startup week.

The best partner, world-class advisors, 2 TOP customers, wowed VCs, securing the best talent daily and filing 2 patent applications.

Hell yeah I'm playing Guns N' Roses at concert levels tonight...
January 18, 2025 at 1:15 AM
Me: what would you like to watch tonight?
Her: let’s watch “Predator”

After 25 years, I can still be surprised and amazed. How the hell a geek like me got so lucky?

For my customary classic rock Friday tweet, I feel like listening to a quintessential LA band tonight... stay strong friends!

11 AM feels like 4 PM when you have a startup. This productivity is unimaginable at large corporations.

I'm lucky enough to have a rare copy of the original Alan Parker's movie "The Wall" (1982).

I ran it through @topazlabs.bsky.social video AI software.

OMG... it's like it was done in 2025... seriously, you need to do this.

As 2024 closes, it's hard for me to believe it's been 20 years since the release of the remake of Battlestar Galactica.

I grew up with the original one in the 80s, so the 2004 version was a huge thing for me. Everything will get old and be forgotten eventually...

Between the 24th and 25th, I shipped 4,600 lines of high-quality code: a multi-DB abstraction layer for an AI system that handles graph, vector, document, temporal, and spatial data, allowing complete separation of concerns at every level of the system, with...

For my customary Friday classic rock tweet: the song line-up in AC/DC's European Tour this year was pretty spectacular:

If You Want Blood (You've Got It)
Back In Black
Demon Fire
Shot Down In Flames
Thunderstruck
Have A Drink On Me...

(if you want the full list, go here: x.com/ramirosalas/...)

For my customary Friday classic rock tweet: I just snatched tickets to see AC/DC in Vancouver, BC next April! 🤘😎🤘
