Definitely go read TK's translation (lrt) because I'm not a Korean person, just someone learning Korean.

But here are some notes about Hobi's rap in Spaghetti.

Almost every line has some cooking, eating and drinking, or taste related word - highlighted in green.
**Yeah, this is the sweet spot** **Heat up the scene, it's that big shot** **Chef's choice, 널 위한 킥이야** ***Chef’s choice, it’s a kick just for you*** [TN: I think this is a Kor/Eng metalanguage thing. - In English, when we refer to giving something a kick when we’re talking about food, it means that it’s kind of spicy and has a presence that makes you notice. - But this is a bit of a false friend if we look at the meaning in Korean, and I’m pretty sure this particular usage of 킥 is a neologism that arose out of Culinary Class Wars. - I think Hobi’s riffing off the “Chef’s choice” because 킥 is when a chef that’s known for something specific - a style, a dish, etc - perfectly executes their specialty showcasing their skill/individuality (at least that’s my understanding of this usage).] **You lost in the sauce, no turnin' back** **더 취할 거야 밤새, 기울여 절로** ***More intoxicated/drunk all night, knock it back*** [TN: This entire song is One Big Pun of Korean words that mean to chew on/ingest stuff both literally and figuratively (e.g. 씹다). - 기울려 절로 means keep drinking - But 기울리다 also has the meaning of tilting towards something. A common expression that uses this word is 귀를 기울려 - tilt/bend your ear like you’re listening in very intently/giving someone attention. - 절로 means automatically or on its own, fits with the lost in the sauce, no turnin’ back feeling in that you’re not really in control of your behavior around this. - My interpretation: If you look at the next line about about 핀잔, it feels a bit like he’s saying that people automatically/can’t help but pay attention to him, and some of those people are haters saying 핀잔, very in line with the overall message of the song] **난 빈 잔은 받고, 이젠 핀잔은 걸러** ***I take/receive an empty cup and now I sift out rebuke*** - 빈 잔 (empty cup) and 핀잔 (scolding, telling-off, rebuke) sound very similar. - 거르다 can mean to sift (so if you’re draining your boiled spaghetti noodles through a colandar, this is the word you use). - 이젠 (이제는) means now, but now as in the now that is different from then. There’s an implied change of state in this word choice (as opposed to 지금). So this line feels pretty swaggy to me in that he’s saying that ugly words people say just fall through the holes and go down the drain. **좋은 게 좋은 거지 좋다는 게, 왜 뭐?** ***I like the things that I like, I said that I like them, what of it?*** **느껴봐 어서, 꺾지 말고, 벌컥** ***Just hurry up and feel it, bottoms up, gulp*** **Snap it up like a Getty** [TN: Lol this line is kind of amazing. It’s punning spaghetti with Getty images which leads into the next line.] **내 김치 포즈는 여전히 priceless** ***My kimchi pose is always priceless*** - Instead of saying “cheese” when taking a picture to make people look like they’re smiling, it’s common in Korea to say “kimchi” instead. **Whatevеr I'm cookin', star같이** ***Whatever I’m cookin, like a star*** **어떤 코스든 원하면 말아주는 쉐키** ***I’m the punk who will cook up whatever dish you want*** - 말다 here means to put rice or noodles in broth or boiling water and mix it in - 쉐키 is a slangified kind of sillier way to say 새끼 **내가 네 취향 드라마 주인공이고** ***I’m the main character in your favorite kind of drama*** **또 숨듣명이고, 고칼로리 Hershey 초코** ***And I’m the song that you listen to in private - a guilty pleasure - a high calorie Hershey’s chocolate*** - 숨듣명 = 숨어서 듣는 명곡 - 숨다 = to hide - 명곡 = a famous or classic song **모든 줏대를 홀리는 타로, 넌 음미해 나로** ***All the taro that injects some backbone, you savor it through me*** [TN: I’m really not sure what the taro is about..lol, please check another translation from a Korean person that might have a better grasp of cultural context of the symbolism of taro..He might be referring to tarot instead? They get transliterated the same way into Hangul.. - 줏대 = backbone or spine in the figurative sense of conviction in your beliefs - 홀리다 = to be possessed] **자 이제 까에서 빠로, brr** ***OK now, from a hater to a fan, brr*** - 까빠 is internet slang for an anti-fan so someone that calls themself a fan but also hates on some idol group (not like a solo, I think for the group as a whole) - According to The Internet, 빠 comes from 빠순이/빠돌이 (a big fan -순이 female/ -돌이 male), and 까 seems to come from 까다 which is used in a lot of slang for peeling things back or off.

JJ JIN'S THOUGHTS J Preparing for the tour I wanted to break away from the typical concert format. I even experimented with unique ways to make an entrance and worked to maximize my time onstage, like staying on to change outfits or in the shortest time possible backstage. I guess I tried a lot of new things just for the fun of it. Not surprisingly, I worried up until the day before the concert that the audience might not like it since it was almost too new. I was worried about whether I should change it right up until the day of the show, but luckily they loved it and had fun. weverse magazine JJ JIN'S THOUGHTS J Kicking off "#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR" with "dojeon!" I used dojeon as a pretext to do a lot of sneaky things while doing "Run Jin." (laughs) That ended up becoming the signature of the show. In line with that, I didn't want to kick things off just by myself since it was supposed to be a shared experience with the fans. I put a lot of thought into how to structure the opening so as to start the concert after setting up the vibe with them and then getting the concert on the same wavelength. weverse magazine
