It’s a little crazy to call this a bathroom ban bill when the bigger thing it does it revokes gender designation changes made legally to birth certificates and drivers licenses, and forces trans people to revert them. For birth certificates: yes, even if they’ve fled to a different state or country

I just finished this book and immediately want to read it again. It's a fantasy noir about an ex-soldier-turned-unlucky-detective in a fictional African city occupied by the French. If you liked Disco Elysium you'll probably like this too. Really wonderful mystery and political intrigue and magic
