Sorting through some old paper photos today ,and came across a couple from the late 80's .Showing a few of the birders that were "having " a Golden-Winged Warbler...I purposely left it late hoping the crowds may have dispersed....I was wrong !.....not my type of birdwatching ! and yes I did see it

Still some nice, bracket fungus to be found ,couldn,t resist another look at the Orange type bracket from a few days back ,and although a biting cold wind blowing ,a lone Hawfinch sat at the top of a tree, with his nape feathers blown forwards ,looked very much like a Waxwing ! ....till I got closer

In the local forest ,at a secluded feeding station ,many Blue Tits with some Great ,Coal and Long-tailed Tits ,and a very timid Nuthatch ! A Tawny Owl and Buzzard ,called briefly, also several GS Woodpeckers ,best was 2 Hawfinches seen twice ,allowing me to take my traditional "Naff" Hawfinch shot.

Fiery-throated Hummingbird (Panterpe insignis): 10.9cm (4.3in). This is a medium sized hummingbird of the Talamancan montane forests of Costa Rica and western Panama. The adult bird has brilliant green body plumage and a dark blue tail. A remarkable photo taken by Alfredo Irizarry in Costa Rica.
