Hi friends, new and old! I’m Tory, a disabled person doing disability stuff, specifically aging and disability care at @caringacrossgen.bsky.social. I love Medicaid, care, cats, @lfgarrett.bsky.social, and screaming into the abyss.

It would also give *Ryan Lizza*—who could, in theory, have leaked this info at any point over the last 12-16 months—a role in both RFK’s appointment and the untold preventable deaths. But Lizza either isn’t self aware enough to realize that or is too busy selling Substack subscriptions to care
well, I read it, and the salient, non-gross part is Lizza alleging, midsentence and without elaboration, that Nuzzi ran numerous “catch-and-kill operations” on RFK’s behalf, which would give her a role in both his appointment and the untold preventable deaths he has abetted in office. Cool.

For some context the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly report in addition to being just a good read, to quote wikipedia, "is the main vehicle for publishing public health information and recommendations that have been received by the CDC from state health departments. "
BREAKING: Friday night massacre underway at CDC. Doznes of "disease detectives," high-level scientists, entire Washington staff and editors of the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) have all been RIFed and received the following notice:

Just in case: MMWR is a key frontline indicator for outbreaks. The first subtle hint of AIDS was in that publication. This is the pale horse that Death rides.

Something we *have* to do to build a real future is get people with disabled family members to make the connection that the politicians pass the policies that hurt them. If this breaks through to GOP voters with disabled family who then call their reps and say dont fuck with us? That’s not nothing.
this is a strong thesis of someone facing a consequence of their vote.

someone literally advocating you take action to your legislators to save something that, yes, while beneficial to her personally, says something about the greater community.

I’m viewing this through an organizing lens.

New from 404 Media: ICE added a random person to group chat, exposed highly sensitive details about an active manhunt in real-time. The person says they were added weeks ago, thought they were scam texts until start seeing data lookups etc. Incredible security failure www.404media.co/ice-adds-ran...

Some republicans justify their Medicaid & social services cuts by saying “we’re all going to die”.

That may be true, but we don’t have to stand idly by while they help people die faster.

While they enact policies that will end lives.

While they defend policies that have already killed people.

We're all going to die eventually. I will die very quickly without Medicaid.

As in, my continuing to live is contingent on medical treatments with a sticker price in the neighborhood of $10,000 a month.

Absolutely shameful. After backlash over her “we’re all going to die” remark, Senator Ernst has chosen to mock the millions of Americans who are terrified about losing their health care. She’s somehow made this even more insulting.
