Assigned Media's own Evan Urquhart writes that NYT articles were cited 29 times (!) in amicus briefs filed with the Supreme Court in its recent U.S. v Skrmetti decision. :-{{ @rikiwilchins.bsky.social
NY Times cited 29 times to justify decision limiting trans healthcare
Meanwhile, other mainstream media newsrooms treated the U.S. v. Skrmetti case as an opportunity to center coverage around the expected result.

Re-reading @queergeog.bsky.social’s @dialogueshg.bsky.social article it is suddenly painfully clear to me what senior faculty actually mean when they tell me I’m shaping the future of my discipline. How do they not appreciate that to shape geography’s future I have to remain a part of its present?
