Any Democratic senator who votes for a continuing resolution offered by Republicans will effectively be green-lighting the cruel policies passed in Trump's big, ugly bill.

Now I hope a bill is written up that requires ICE to show their faces and identification in the state. Making requirements that make it impossible for them to pull this gestapo shit would be a real good thing.

Joe Biden is a good and decent man. His Presidency was a triumph for meaningful legislation to improve the lives of the many Americans. He and his family deserve peace during this difficult time.

Unfortunately the political landscape today is much different. Lobbyists control the government, and the voice of the people no longer matters. Protests can be ignored. They didn't pay attention to how we felt until a CEO was shot. They never reacted like that for school children. We have to fight.

I was surprised that social scientists who study authoritarian personalities remained largely silent during the 2024 presidential campaign. They now have almost a decade of hard data on Trump and his followers. Will this silence continue?
