When I saw news of a new Legacy of Kain game, I was breathing so heavy. I could not believe what I was seeing. New original material since 2003! I've been waiting forever for a new Legacy of Kain game as someone who has been a fan since 1999. It's an 8-bit looking game, but whatever! It's something!

RayForce (aka Layer Section aka Galactic Attack aka Gunlock) is one of my favorite games of all time, and also a cautionary tale about ceding decision making to AI.

The plot of the game revolves around a last ditch attempt to fight back against Con-Human, a rogue planetary management AI that that took over the Earth and began replacing organic life with synthetic in a twisted attempt to fulfill its directive to 'preserve humanity'. Originally illustrated as a contribution to the Taito fanbook 'Taitronica'.
