@quantumbiodao.bsky.social
The Quantum Biology DAO is a non-profit that supports the field with community building, governance tokens and an open competition for research grants.
This is massively exciting! Huge shoutout to the team involved.
Great news! @mariaingaramo.bsky.social 's company (Nonfiction Labs) made a remote-controlled antibody.

Its binding turns on and off with a magnet.

This is a HUGE step towards our dream of magnetically controlled drugs. Imagine a cancer drug that ONLY attacks the tumor, not the rest of your body.

Life evolved for billions of years within Earth’s magnetic field. More recently, human technologies have introduced new electromagnetic fields into our surroundings.

What might this rapid environmental change mean for biology?

⭐️ We’ve got two events coming up this week:

Community Call:
A weekly space to align on DAO progress, share updates, and discuss the future of quantum biology.

Trivia:
Come socialize and test your knowledge of quantum biology, DeSci, and the DAO.

What happens when you remove Earth's magnetic field?

In tadpoles, replacing Earth’s ~50 μT field with a low field (<1 nT) accelerated development, with effects as early as day one.

If development is this sensitive, magnetic environments may be a fundamental (yet overlooked) biological variable.
Weak magnetic field effects in biology are measurable—accelerated Xenopus embryogenesis in the absence of the geomagnetic field
Despite decades of reports of weak magnetic field effects in biology across the tree of life and on a broad range of cell types, the evidence to date remains met with skepticism. To remedy this, we pr...

What are your New Year’s resolutions/goals?

We’ll start with a few of ours:
🔹 Continue to grow the DAO community worldwide
🔹 Support and fund even more real science
🔹 Expand public understanding of quantum biology
🔹 Advance education and adoption of Web3 and DeSci

2026 is for quantum biology
Let’s build
January 2, 2026 at 5:21 AM
These are just a few examples that only scratch the surface of what happened this year.

Looking ahead to 2026, we're excited to expand education efforts, host events, and much, much more.

5/ The first quantum biology hackathon took place.

It brought together people from different disciplines to work through questions in quantum biology. We hope this was the first of many!

If you want more context, we put together a YouTube playlist featuring the leaders of the event.

4/ The DAO approved its largest grant so far.

A grant of 500 ETH was awarded to the Quantum Biology Institute to support foundational, open science research.

In 2026, we plan to expand the granting process to support even more work across the field.

3/ Qubie emerged.

Through an open community contest, members submitted designs, voted, and we landed on our mascot.

2/ The DAO community grew.

Quantum biology isn't just for scientists. The community now includes creators, communicators, and more. Working groups formed, conversations stayed active, and the bi-weekly trivia got surprisingly competitive.
