“our popular-culture obsession with zombies today is inspired by the surge of serial killers over the last fifty years” & it really got me thinking about my country’s own folklore, considering despite the bouts of violence & brutality, the population of identified serial killers is fairly low.
currently reading — ‘sons of cain’ by peter vronsky. probably a lapse in judgement to read before bed (considering the subject matter) but i’m throwing caution to the wind. this won’t induce a nightmare because i rarely dream during my sleep nowadays. very informative read, i'm glad i picked it up!

writer’s block hangs over my head like a dark cloud. at dawn it grows larger than before, on the precipice of a storm. i’ve only competed 4 poems this year & the end looms in the skyline. i have so many things to write about but they can’t be said, only wept. i want to write, i miss writing : (

sewing frustrates me. context: my friend’s birthday is next week & on impulse, i decided to create a felt doll of a rat as a gift. i have the materials needed, i’m only lacking the skills. let’s see if enthusiasm will make up for what i don’t have -_-
