one thing i want people in the us to consider when they think about whether or not to attempt direct aid towards venezuelans is how powerful a dollar is. in general in LATAM a dollar tends to be super valuable, but especially in places like venezuela and argentina it is HUGE.

my bill is usually $180
today it is. an utterly, ridiculously unaffordable $669.78
and I found this out today when I went to pay. no warning.
