Replaying the Ace Attorney series, I'm at AA Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, finishing the last case (so I have about 400 hours left...). Anyway, I have watched the original 6 Lone Wolf and Cub movies by now. I see you, Steel Samurai and your Iron Infant in a pram.

Replaying the Ace Attorney series, I'm at AA Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, finishing the last case (so I have about 400 hours left...). Anyway, I have watched the original 6 Lone Wolf and Cub movies by now. I see you, Steel Samurai and your Iron Infant in a pram.

Basically, it's a lot easier to convince people that men deserve more social power than women if you can also convince them that all men (or at least all "real" men) are physically more powerful than all ("real") women. Trans athletes challenge those patriarchal messages, whether they win or not.

This is the underlying belief in a lot of nonsense around trans (and intersex!) female identifying inclusion in sport: any man can beat every woman, the detection of any amount of maleness is therefore unfair

Rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the series, not the movie), and it's kinda weird how such a beloved, successful series was created by a completely anonymous person who then went on to disappear and never do anything else ever again.

There is no need to regulate who has a correct sex or not. There isn't to my knowledge a case where this has protected anyone's welfare, but there are countless cases where this has caused harm to members of the sexually marginalised people that sex discrimination law is supposed to protect.
