My pippins OCs! Shout out to @cluniies.bsky.social and that-guy-sleepy-miles on tumblr for inspiring some of their design choices for me! I don't think I'd have the motivation to design these fellas without their and everyone else's positive reactions to their roles in FRT #deltarune #deltaruneoc
A blue pippins OC, with a blue poncho, blue pinstripe button up shirt, and red bowtie. The text says: "Que Pronouns: they/them Favorite Lightner: Alphys The "Qu" cube from the game Boggle, Que is one of the many pippins that Kris pocketed and took home from school. They're not a typical pippins. Gambling is not in their nature, what with being so naive, clumsy, and excitable, but they still love to play with the other pippins (though, they have to rely on others to make numbered dice for them, as they can only make letter-based ones). Que also has a tendency to crush on anyone remotely nice to them, and read a little too hard between the lines about peoples' intentions around them (as well as just being a general shipper of everything, blame the Alphys influence). The pippins has a damaged, dirty, cream-colored hooded poncho with muddied purple-brown nordic knitting accents, a turtleneck sweater, and is using a nail for a cane. The text says: "Lady Luck, AKA Grams Pronouns: she/her Favorite Lightner: Rudy Lady Luck belongs to Rudy, who keeps her in his pocket as a good luck charm. she gets her nickname "Grams" on account of the other pippins suspecting that she's a weighted die due to her mostly rolling 6's, and it's unknown whether even Rudy is aware if she is or not. She is very, very old, being made of wood instead of the plastic that modern pippins are made of, and has been passed down a few generations before making her way to Rudy, who had planned on giving her to Dess before she disappeared. Chance admired her greatly, seeing her wins as genuine skill and not cheating like the other pippins did, and would often challenge her during those times she was around for game nights and the like between the Holiday family. She humored them, and always won."

Can we start saying "a person's reality shapes how fiction affects them"? Everyone responds to the same media differently and it is not a universal experience. MANY things influence how a person reacts to & interprets media such as how they're raised, mental health, education, religion, & culture.🧵

The usual assumption has been that watching violence makes people more aggressive, but aggressive people are also drawn to watching violence. Moreover, another entirely independent factor may be causing both. Some children are born with a mental or emotional predisposition toward violence; or learn it as toddlers from the way they are treated by abusive parents or siblings; or in other ways develop aggressiveness as a personality trait. In turn, this trait or predisposition manifests itself in both their aggressive behavior and their liking for watching violence or playing aggressive games (Bushman, 1995; Ferguson, 2013). In an experiment investigating the interaction between temperament and exposure to violence, children watched either a film depicting a great deal of police violence or an exciting but nonviolent film about bike racing. They then played a game of floor hockey. Watching the violent film did increase the number of aggressive acts the children committed during the hockey game- but primarily by those who had previously been rated as highly aggressive by their teachers. These kids hit others with their sticks, threw elbows, and yelled aggressive things at their opponents to a much greater extent than did either the kids rated as nonaggressive who had also watched the violent films or the kids rated as aggressive who had watched the nonviolent film (Josephson, 1987). Likewise, a few longitudinal studies have shown that exposure to violence in media or video games has the strongest relationship in children who are already predisposed to violence (Anderson & Dill, 2000).
