Vitalogy nearly destroyed Pearl Jam. To me, most of the songs are good but Better Man is the only truly memorable song. The album has the objectively worst Pearl Jam song: Bugs. That song alone is the reason Vitalogy is a bad album. I also felt Gigaton was mostly forgettable save for River Cross.
It is SUCH a formative experience the first time your favorite artist releases a bad album. I envy all the kids going through it this week, you’re about to learn so much about the world! You’re learning how to let go!

Layoffs are always a choice for a company that pays its executives vastly more than it pays real workers.
Pay execs less. Reduce the number of billion dollar acquisitions. Cut the huge amounts of material waste.

i like the way @commandersterling.bsky.social puts it: they indulged in layoffs. laying me off wasn't necessary for the company's survival and my last job, and in fact it harmed our ability to do the work we already had in the city. it happened because they made slightly less profit than expected.

For a technology touted as "democratizing art", generative AI is being used by a lot of fascist and imperialist agents recently, isn't it?

Virtual game carts set a worrying precedent. Its attempt at providing extra value is in service of helping the public accept an all-digital future, which will hurt customers and game preservation in the long run.
