The Redwoods were the most active team last offseason; it paid off with a trip to the PLL semis. They may not be as active this year, but there are several key players to re-sign & needs that have to be addressed.

I don’t know if the NLL could have asked for a better opening game. New rivalry, great home crowd, and the game decided by a goal in the final minute. Great start to the season.

Nick Chaykowsky scores the first FireWolves goal in Oshawa and listen to that crowd. A great effort on the loose ball followed by a low to high laser, and the place goes nuts. All tied up at 1 after the first.

I wore my @washingtonspirit.com Rodman shirt to school today in anticipation of the @nwslsoccer.com championship tomorrow. One of my students noticed & got so excited. “Is that a women’s soccer shirt? None of my teachers wear women’s soccer stuff. That’s so cool!”

It was even cooler than she knew.

I started reading Grant Wahl’s “World Class” anthology. The book jacket talks about his travels around the world writing. I find it really fascinating that when you read “Nacogdoches”, you don’t need a player’s name; you immediately know who the story is about.
