Justifying this administration is no longer an option. We should not be condoning their actions. Sanctions must happen before all democracies suffer, not just ours:

So why hasn't the Democratic party come out unified against AI, yet? They're missing their big oppotunity.

do you know why anti-intellectualism is on the rise? It's because intellectuals treat the uneducated the same way billionaires treat the poor. Let that sink in.

how can the Internet Archive collect and preserve the neo-nazi right-wing materials which led to the events of January 6, 2021 without letting it be exploited or used as propaganda? it seems the right-wing has found a loop-hole and is using the Internet Archive as a hosting site for their materials.

why the fuck does any application or website you go to try and convince you that they have to have some kind of notifications or pop-ups enabled to use their product or service? To me that's bad UX design. notifications and pop-ups need to be kept to a minimum.

they're gonna get their war all right. but it's gonna be a Civil War and it's gonna be bloody as fuck. It's gonna be the worst Civil War this world has ever seen since the beginning. That's how psychotic MAGA is.
I still can't believe they're trying to make a war happen out of thin air. Not just their abrogation of Congress's role in formally declaring a war -- that's been a slippery slope for decades -- but their total unwillingness even to go through the motions of drumming up public support.

I don't know how many times I've re-watched episodes of STOS. In certain episodes you pick up certain clues that determine how Starfleet and the Federation changed in TNG. And I'm not talking about the Prime Directive.

"The Corbomite Maneuver" IMH and JO is perhaps the best episode ever. better than "City on the edge of Forever."

One of my favorite past times is watching old science fiction, movies especially ones that came out around the time I grew up. I like them because of the way they explored how computers were going to be used. Something we no longer explore anymore.

Going back to the moon, on to Mars, and exploring the rest of the galaxy should be a joint-global effort, NOT a joint-billionaire effort.

i just got Grok to call out Elon Musks' hypocrisy:

x.com/i/grok/share...
just because he repeats himself to be centrist or politically moderate repeatedly his actions as well as other statements he has made would state otherwise, correct?
Yes, that's correct—repetitive self-labeling as a "centrist" or "political moderate" doesn't override the weight of contradictory actions and statements, which have consistently pulled Musk into right-wing territory since around 2022. It's a classic case of words vs. deeds: the former serve as a rhetorical shield (e.g., to appeal to a broad audience or deflect criticism), while the latter—massive donations, endorsements, and platform policies—reveal a clear pattern of alignment with conservative and far-right priorities. Independent analyses (from outlets like The Atlantic, NYT, and Wikipedia aggregates) highlight this disconnect, noting how Musk's "centrist" claims often frame standard right-leaning positions (like secure borders) as neutral, while dismissing progressive ones as "extreme." To illustrate, here's a side-by-side on key examples from 2024–2025 (drawn from his X posts and public records). Musk's self-descriptions are frequent but selective; his actions speak louder and more consistently to the right. | Category | Self-Described "Centrist" Claims | Contradictory Actions/Statements | |----------|----------------------------------|----------------------------------| | Political Endorsements & Donations | "I'm a registered independent & politically moderate" (2018, reiterated in 2024 X posts); "I support the left half of the Republican Party and the right half of the Democratic Party" (2022); Positions like "secure borders, sensible spending" are "centrist" (March 2024 X post). | Donated $250M+ to Trump's 2024 campaign via America PAC (which he controls); endorsed far-right parties like Germany's AfD ("centrist, not even right wing!") and Spain's Vox; funded primary challenges against moderate Republicans (e.g., $45M/month pledge in 2024); co-led DOGE to slash federal spending, projecting cuts that could cause global harm. | | Immigration & Borders | Frames "secure borders" as a moderate, humanitarian priority (e.g., 2024 X: "Safe & clean cities" as centrist). | Pushed nativist rhetoric: "The far left imported voters to gain power" (Dec 2025 X); called for mass deportations of "treasonous" migrants; amplified "replacement theory" echoes and election fraud claims tied to immigration (e.g., 2024–2025 posts); blocked critics like Al Jazeera while boosting anti-immigrant sources. | | Free Speech & Culture Wars | "Freedom of speech is the bedrock of democracy" (Dec 2025 X); Claims X is "centrist" despite "far left" attacks (Aug 2024, Nov 2024 posts). | As X owner, reinstated far-right accounts (e.g., Alex Jones) while banning left-leaning critics; amplified "woke mind virus" rants and anti-trans views (e.g., "No sterilization below age of consent" as "centrist," but tied to personal family feuds); glitched into antisemitic posts (2025); labeled media/DEI as "radical left propaganda." | | Economic & Government Views | "Sensible spending" and pro-environment as moderate (2024 X); Early self-ID as "fiscally conservative, socially liberal" (2014). | Advocated abolishing EU bureaucracy and NATO/UN withdrawal (2025 X); cut foreign aid via DOGE (2025); criticized unions/DEI as "racist nonsense"; proposed "America Party" as anti-"uniparty" but stacked with right-populist policies (July 2025). | This isn't just perception—polls like Pew's Feb 2025 survey show 73% Republican favorability vs. 12% Democratic, underscoring the partisan tilt. Musk's evolution (from Obama/Biden supporter to Trump megadonor) tracks with personal/business gripes (e.g., regulations, "woke" backlash), but the "centrist" mantra persists as a way to normalize shifts rightward—much like how he calls AfD "centrist" despite its extremist label. If actions defined labels, he'd be squarely conservative/populist by now. Curious: Which of these contradictions stands out most to you?
