i don't think it's fearmongering as much as the simple fact that toxicity drives much more engagement than mundanity. you're more likely to speak on something negative than something you don't care about, which is why twitter users quickly get bored here
Twitter users are spreading some crazy misinfo about Bluesky amid this AI art situation. I have a really cynical read on all this — I think there’s fearmongering on Twitter to prevent people from leaving. “Please don’t walk out of the jail, even though the door is open”
