In addition to Moby Dick I'm also currently reading (actually, listening to) Wuthering Heights for the first time. So far I love it immensely. More romances should be narrated by a long-suffering domestic servant who is 1000% done with both these bitches.

I really don't understand how fascism appeals to anyone on a planet full of cats, dogs, horses, and warm sources of pure love.

Who's going to AWP? I'm staying in a big house in the Inner Harbor full of poets. I'm told it has a rooftop deck?

I think I'm writing about Sigmund Freud just to poke fun at him.

(I think that's probably okay.)

Throwback Tuesday to the (one and only) time I've written straightforward memoir. Yes, there's a horse.

Friendly reminder that anyone who puts balls on their truck has just made their truck trans. Those balls were not their when the truck was born. You changed its gender. Your truck is trans.

There's a thing on here about "posting a book from the 80s" and I realized that everything I read in the 80s that felt fresh and new was from the 60s and 70s.

This is because I was a child during the 1980s.

I am so "not ready" for the holidays.

Which has me wondering if I've ever felt "ready" for the holidays since I was a child, free of the holiday-magic-making obligations that settle upon women's shoulders like a mantle as soon as they reach the age of majority.
