I really underestimated how much hatred for immigrants there was in this country. Even when I was a Republican (eons ago) I believed the "we're only against illegal immigration" rhetoric. But they don't even say that anymore. They're openly against non-white and poor immigrants, no sugar-coating.

I agree with this article except on one point, Trump clings to the Reaganite notion that you can *always* grow your way out of a tax rate "cut" and that deficits don't matter. And he embraces some of the deregulatory *rhetoric*. But apart from that he's an 80s protectionist Democrat all the way.

FWIW I’m a Christian and I’m adamantly opposed to vigilante violence against politicians, abortionists, etc. People like Vance Boelter are why I haven’t been in a church in years.
