EU laws are not just made FOR people, they are made WITH people. And that's why clear language is so important.

Spookily simple: why the simplest systems are the most effective ones in my freelance business...

This may not be a popular opinion, but IMHO most freelancers don't need elaborate project management systems.

It's Halloween this week, so just for fun I'm sharing scary typos I spot out in the real world.

This one should never have made it to the printers: 'The Symble of Reliability'. 👻

(Spotted on a roofing contractors van. So good they printed it on all their vans.)

Divya Venn (via James Clear):
"Being annoyed is the price you pay for community. It means having guests when you'd rather be alone. It means letting someone live with you even when they get on your nerves. It means showing up for events that you'd rather not go to. It means turning the other cheek".

Anyone else got a little bit too swept up in that back-to-school energy?
I'm starting this week with the sinking feeling that I've overcommitted. 🫨

It happens too often, I'm working on it.

Oh for the confidence I had in my 20s! When I thought I had everything sussed out.

In my 40s, the more I learn, I'm acutely aware of all that I don't know. 🤔

Anyone else?

Have you read Content DNA by John Espirian?

It's not just another content marketing book. I'm a bit fatigued by those. I explain why in my book review:

These peace markers are dotted around the town where I live.

All have messages of peace in different languages on each side. I always feel happy to see them, so this weekend I took a photo of the one closest to my home.

Anyone else find themselves making a character from a book out of a potato for World Book Day?

Just me?

Me and my daughter made this 'Dorothy' this week. I'm sure you'll agree the resemblance is uncanny.
