A story in two pics:
“Oooh new minis to paint!”

Hears the dark, angry whispers of hundreds of unpainted minis from the closet.
Their chemistry was spectacular!! It’s the first time I’ve been hype for a second season in a while

Olympic interviewers will really be like “your favorite cat passed when you were nine years old, what do you think your Olympic debut would mean to them?”

The music note dancers were disturbing

You guys if I was real high I think these open ceremonies would be terrifying.

Can’t wait to stare at everyone’s crotch in those air tight costumes and be like bet he got the shot

Well last year I read the Adventures of Amina Al- Sirafi and it was fantastic. I just finished Break Wide the Sea and I liked it well enough that I will read book two but thought it needed a stronger hand editing. Got two more on deck!

Tried a new soul food place entirely off how the catfish looked in the video, and it is not disappointing. It is next level. Time to get weird about Olympics.

I know I said I was sad I haven’t felt the pull towards fantasy in a while but I went to my friends bookstore and

Maritime fantasy is the new BIG thing

And I am so fucking in.

Right 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s almost like they trust that the tropes are pervasive enough you’ll get it any ways
February 7, 2026 at 12:48 AM
Right, I’m sure there are sticklers everywhere but I’ve never seen a conversation like that taking place in horror, romance, or even nonfiction! And it’s like in every SFF thread! It’s weird, the state of the genre is so great now!

Re-experiencing Bink’s wife in Xanth and her menses curse was crushing. Honestly, in no other genre I read outside of SFF do people insist you have to read decades old things to understand the genre. outside of “fan-academia” which is awesome, fun, legit but also not where anyone needs to start

And I will always tailor my rec as specific as possible to the person because Recs aren’t just about what you like, it’s about what they like too, and what you want to share between the two of you!

I rarely make exceptions to the 5 yr rule, they have to absolute gold to squeak by

I got repeatedly disgusted by people recommending Xanth as comedy fantasy. Going back to it as an adults it creepy and misogynist.

My rule since blowing up in the dark place about shit recs like that is that I will almost never rec a book I havent read in the last 5 years
Yup. This is also why I get annoyed when people start suggesting "golden age" science fiction titles to people who are new the genre and are asking for suggestions. You want to turn a modern 15-year-old off science fiction forever, recommend stories that were old when her grandparents were her age.
When people ask how to get into GA SF I always say that the right way is via some of those fat "Best Of" short fiction collections

I never really was an e-girl, but I shall enjoy my time as an e-spinster

It's near-white out conditions in Chicago as the snow comes down, and tonight's anti-ICE/CBP rally is wrapping up in front of city hall.

But not before the crowd bounces and chants, "I believe that we will win!"

If you are protesting this weekend, please (I beg) wear an n95 or kn95 mask. Not for surveillance, don't promote that like of thinking it is incorrect, but for health safety for yourself and others! Public health safety at a crowded protest is incredibly important for your community! #WearAMask

Really not interested in romantasy. I’m very glad it’s a thing! They have beautiful covers! The desire is zero on my part
