At 3AM, November 17, 1973, "The Colonels" sent a tank crashing through the gates of the Athens Polytechnic. It had been occupied by students protesting the fascist junta. Dozens died, mostly teens, 20s and one boy of 5. Over 2,000 were injured.
The protests it sparked brought down the dictatorship.

Promising results from a new malaria drug offer hope against emerging drug resistance in Africa. In a clinical trial, ganaplacide–lumefantrine (GanLum) cured 97.4% of participants, outperforming an existing treatment, which cured 94%.

The court said that the evidence put forward by the prosecution pointed to the fact that Kapil Mishra was present in the area in question and that “all the things were corroborating”. The plea was filed by Mohammad Ilyas.
