Yeah this is a key thing: we literally do not see the night sky with the same intensity and regularity that premodern people did!
If you ever have the experience of seeing a night sky out in the deep countryside you can understand this; it really is a fundamentally different experience, and I can't imagine it not being formative to people.

I think people today don't understand just how dramatically the night sky has changed - it looked like it does in super remote areas *everywhere* before the invention of electric lighting, and light pollution that obscures the sky has gotten dramatically worse in the last 25 years.
If you ever have the experience of seeing a night sky out in the deep countryside you can understand this; it really is a fundamentally different experience, and I can't imagine it not being formative to people.

Manager asked me if I was unwell. I said yeah, a bit under the weather. She asked if that's why I didn't put on makeup that day. Ladies, fellas, those who don't give a fuck - I had never worn makeup at that job in my life. I took sick leave for the next 3 days.

I'm living on disability allowance since long-COVID took me down, as is my fiancée for her autoimmune disease. We rely on SVDP every 3rd month to afford food because the electricity doesn't get covered by our payments. Half my friends have emigrated AGAIN or living with parents or ill, but sure.
