It both looks great and is optimized!
Unless you need a dynamic light to have avatars cast shadows for a specific thing, you won't need them to have the world light and cast shadows on avatars now.

I like the idea, can look great! I think world devs should adopt it in a caring manner for it to not behave super erratic.

If my avatar becomes a blinking light show on movement, it's probably not set up correctly.

I just tried @sim.red's VRC Light Volumes on @poiyomi.com, and, it looks amazing!

It's also avaliable for liltoon and Mochies shader, in the case of Poi, you just need to update it.

Anyways, here's a few pics, I'm very exited of this being implemented on all maps.

I got to play around with the newest version of poiyomi pro.

Added a AO shader toggle.
(It's subtle which is how I like it)

I use to just search for worlds in VRChat that have AO but now I can just boop it on whenever I want!

If you're using @poiyomi.com's new SSAO, try giving it a little jitter. You can drastically improve your performance with a near-imperceptible drop in visual fidelity.

Seeing some confusion on this. When configured right, the light's layer-masked and won't create extra draws - seems to have no addl cost whether 1 or 80 is present.

The costs are:
- A light in your perf stats
- Enabling the depth texture, if it's not already enabled

And, ofc, cost of SSAO itself
I mean I haven't looked at the shader code but going off how poi generally puts out pretty clean code the part that would get expensive (hard to run) is the depth light, having just one in the instance is trivial to run but if even 30 or 40 people have that light it would cause major problems.

I gotta say, the SSAO @poiyomi.com update is just magnificent!
