Today is National Biscuit Day, and it’s about time that I populated this account with biscuit (cookie) sets from the past few years. Here are some of my favourites. 🧵

First up, a set inspired by the delicious designs of William Morris and John Henry Dearle.
A set of eight rectangular cookies arranged on a square white plate against a dark wooden background. Each cookie is inspired by a wallpaper design by Morris & Co. The patterns represented feature different floral and leaf shapes in shades of baby blue, soft pink, leafy green, mustard yellow, cream, and dark grey.

Little Betty's in Stonegate, York. Drawn over a couple of evenings, completed OTD in 2016. The shop & cafe closed in 2021 but was one of my favourite shops when I worked in the city centre.

This is a hand-printed lino block print of the charming Hummingbird Clearwing moth (Hermaris thysbe) seeking pollen from cherry blossoms. The olive-headed burgundy moth has transparent wings (though colour can be variable). It beats its wings 🧵
My linocut print of a hovering hummingbird clearwing moth above a branch of cherry blossoms on ivory Japanese kozo paper, 8” x 8”. The moth has an olive coloured head, burgundy back and wings (with transparent windows), black elsewhere including eye, and antennae. The branch is brown with pink/purple and white blossoms.
