While Scholastic is a publisher their school book fairs sell cheap editions of books from many different childrens publishers. And in underserved communities are often the only way kids get to buy books.
This is appalling. Scholastic giving the option for schools to opt out of diverse books at book fairs. Diversity and inclusion should be part of education, not erasure and supremacy. Deeply concerning.
