I'd say I'm rather allusive here
one of the things I love about *NIX is how customizable its DEs are. I LOVE seeing other peoeples' desktops. They're almost always different from one another. It's genuinely why r/unixporn is my favorite subreddit

That one moment my store randomly plays R.E.M. music (this time it's Man on the Moon)

I mean yes it's a great song of course but I've listened to the whole album like a million fucking times and they could literally be playing any other song from it lol

Just a reminder that Junko canonically almost breaks the spell card rules, and her danmaku and theme have a real "I'm going to fucking murder you" vibe, and her final EX Boss spell card is no exception (she's not even the actual Extra Boss)

If you're in need of positive and rather wholesome news, there's a high school teacher named Bryan who took a ton of freely licensed celebrity headshots at the New York Film Festival last month for Wikipedia, and I truly can't believe how drastic the upgrade is for some articles (thread)

omg. i just now noticed the pun in there. 😑
I'm just toying around with MediaWiki to see if my idea for a centralized wiki on electronics toys & games is feasible. As such, this About page is just a draft and will definitely not look like this if I ever get to releasing this wiki onto the WWW lol

Now is a good time to remind everybody that Bluesky is a federated platform. You can just make your own instance.

There's no shame in being wrong about something.

There is shame in choosing to be wrong.

It happened, I am now the proud owner of the RAREST FAMICOM CARTRIDGE* (that was commercially released in Japan)
I cannot put into words how happy I am, especially with the added bonus of that price tag no less!

I always recommend people to dualboot on separate drives (you still should), but it's best utilized when your motherboard has the option for a "one-time boot", which Dell OEM mobos have.

...they're not the only ones with that feature, right...?

The demo version of Mario Kart: Double Dash contains an unused Game Over screen. Notably, the smoke graphics used here are humorously called "smork" internally. It is unknown if this is a legitimate misspelling of "smoke" or if the word was deliberately spelled in a funny way.

from what i can tell, the wallpaper itself has to support this. i've tried another dynamic wallpaper and it doesn't do the "crossfading" thing. it only changes when the clock strikes an hour

another thing i found out is that dynamic wallpapers adapt to DST, so that's neat
i'm losing my shit over how GNOME handles dynamic wallpapers*

what it does is that it kind of "crossfades" the two wallpapers, so literally every minute the "crossfade" gets one tick closer to the next wallpaper, and it's barley noticeable

IT'S SO FUCKING COOL LIKE WTFFF
