This went under the radar but new ROMs have surfaced for Nintendo Champus Challenge 1992 and PowerFest '94. These were provided by user Yaderize and are currently playable via the Ares and Higan emulators. See the alt text for each title screen screenshot.

Hard to believe it's already been ten years that Gaming Alexandria has been around. Here's a (late) article about our history, as well as special thanks and small blurbs from others of what Gaming Alexandria has meant to them. Here's to another ten years! www.gamingalexandria.com/wp/2025/11/g...

Updated my VRChat avatar to fix some bugs and also for an important addition to the Famicom cartridge accessories. Now I can show my virtual friends my personal holy grail.

Back in 1998 when the Earth Bound (Zero) prototype was released there were several users who were skeptical of its authenticity, some of who claimed it was "fake". It would eventually be confirmed real not long after and in hindsight was obviously legit.
Perhaps we can learn from this event?

Just caught Nookipedia mentioning this in their Legend of Zelda furniture item page. I have since corrected the page.

The Nintendo Switch is on the cusp of becoming the best selling Nintendo system ever but the Nintendo DS is barely hanging in there.

I was able to extract some screens from that Darwin tape over the weekend. I've also confirmed that i need the Model 1000 firmware to play the tape. It will not run with the SBX-01 firmware.

Reorganizing my Nintendo Switch game cards and I came to the realization I ran out of room in my dedicated case for them, they could hold up to 80 cards.
Is there another case that I could get which can also be easily expanded when needed? Preferably trying to aim for over 100 game cards.

A prototype build of the unreleased Famicom RPG "Splatterworld" has been found. It was posted by an anonymous user on 4chan and appears to be a later build compared to the then-only known footage of the game. I'm curious to see if there will be efforts to fan translate this into English.

According to one of the devs:

"The hardware was done, and the artwork was 20% done, there was no programming. It was a 45 degree down angle view, with a maze of stone and walls and pits”.

During PRGE 2025, I was lucky enough to get my hands on a label for an unlicensed NES game that never came out. Hellraiser by Color Dreams was promoted in the early 1990s but afterwards faded in obscurity. No build of the game has surfaced but other material was produced including cartridge labels.

Was talking about the 3D Classics line on 3DS with folks and I mentioned Kirby's Adventure was notable for eliminating the in-game slowdown. Someone replied saying you could "do this on any emulator" and that's how I discovered the overclocking feature in Mesen.
Anyways playable Armadillo (no lag).

Just checked some stats for FamiWiki, and I want to note the total edit count on the entire wiki as of writing is over 30k. Meanwhile searching up my user shows I have made over 20k edits... nearly 2/3 of all edits on the wiki come from me alone.

Despite being a fan of GameCenter CX, surprisingly I don't actually have much media and merchandise from the show outside of the two DS games and the DVD that comes bundled in with the second game.
I should probably change that the chance I get to importing Japanese items again.

Even in VR, a game like Shanghai can still be difficult. Got softlocked on this puzzle but I ended up solving a different one so that's nice.

Looking through the videos posted about PRGE 2025 and it looks like I made an appearance from the folks working on the modern light guns. Pretty neato.

It's no wonder that many rely on ships sailing the online seas to keep old software in circulation. If all else fails those ships are garanteed to have what you want but not everyone is comfortable boarding especially since it aint legal. Why can't we have a legal way to sail in regulated waters?
