it became a 900 lines monstrosity of static mappers with 5+ params each, but ever since I have never been lost on where to tweak the combat system. maybe the FP evangelists were onto something

even if you deflect perfectly, once your posture maxes out it'll disarm you and you'll be in unarmed mode. you have to decide whether to run for your sword or keep up the pressure, but keep in mind you'll need your sword for certain counters
