When I was in high school I had this one history teacher who spent an inordinate time on the Nazis, he was definitely Nazis 24/7 kinda guy, and when asked why do we Canadians have to learn this he said "so you know when it's about to happen" to a class of immigrants. We thought he was zany.

Anyone tabling at Anime North wanna do an independent OC or IP project stamp rally with me? We can only host free rallies at AN, so the requirement to get the stamp would be to hear our book/game/kickstarter/whatever pitch.

I remember when I was young I ignorantly thought "well that sorta stuff happened when Nixon was alive, surely now there's no way the people in charge would look at Pinochet, MK Ultra, and Waco and decide to do it again right?"

The most difficult thing to explain to non-creatives is...the part of the job we DON'T LIKE is the part that makes money. The marketing, the business meetings, the packing, the platform research, the book keeping, and phone calls. We want to keep the operation running so we can work on more art.

I feel really tired, I had a great year last year. This year I worked twice as hard and it's a worse year. Artistically I feel I'm doing so much better, but at the end of the day there's metrics that absolutely do make an impact. Some stuff is out of my control but others are mistakes/sacrifices.
