I 100% agree with Minneapolis/St. Paul’s ranking here. It’s a great area for women’s sports. The @pwhlfrost.bsky.social and @mnaurorafc.bsky.social are not only good teams but fun atmospheres. DC however is ranked way too low!

Happy Monday! And it's a happy one because...there's a NWSL Final on Saturday and our Washington Spirit are in it!! Confident Washington Spirit shut out Portland Thorns in 2-0 semifinal win (DP) What a game on Saturday! The Spirit take out Portland to book their second straight trip to the NWSL Final! They will face Gotham FC, who beat Orlando on virtually the last kick of the match in the other semifinal.

The Men’s International Window is half over. D.C. United and Loudoun United have a combined five players on duty across four international rosters. Three players saw the field in the first round of games and acquitted themselves well, scoring two goals. Washington Spirit dominate semifinal match against Portland Thorns in 2-0 win
For the third time in five seasons, Washington Spirit are headed to the NWSL Championship. Even better, they made getting there look so damn fun in Saturday's 2-0 match against the Portland Thorns. Throughout the match, the Spirit played with joy and confidence, stringing together attack after attack and quickly regaining the ball on Portland possessions. They outshot their opponents 10 to two in the first half, and the combination of Hal Hershfelt, Leicy Santos, and Croix Bethune was able to manage the formidable Thorns midfield, while the Spirit's dominance on the wings left Portland's wingers uncertain.
