The UK is not a good regulator, mostly because of the simplistic notion adopted across the political spectrum that we will be more competitive with less of it, which has yet to work in the 40 years for which it has been tried.

- govt desperate for $$$
- Labour talking deregulation, undercutting EU
- but Big Tech marching right, bonding with Trump
- Meanwhile, planning, climate, copyright issues hurtling towards AI…
