Understand me. I’m not like an ordinary world. I have my madness, I live in another dimension and I do not have time for things that have no soul. ~ Charles Bukowski

My gallery at Fine Art America is still alive and well, and it's where I offer a selection of my photographs. The selection will grow slowly but steadily. And as of today it has a new address. Check it out here:

I've been doing a lot of double exposures lately, but I have great love for everyday snapshots too. I'm not about to abandon them. Here's one. Shot from the hip.

It's a question of methods. Everybody wants results, but nobody wants to do what they have to do to get them done.

My attitude to shooting tends to be 'I'll try this and see where it takes me'. I've been doing double exposures lately and I'm liking where it's taking me. Double ex can lead to a level of absurdity, but used thoughtfully it can also add a layer of depth and another dimension to the world around me.

This is what I do. I can only try my best to show a reality that is far beyond, and will long outlive, the 'Daily Shitshow'. Take it or leave it. Find your swords and keep them sharp.

More Uelsmann:

Of course, in order to make art, the frustration of not working has to be greater than the frustration of working.

The camera is a fluid way of encountering that other reality.

Why should not the camera artist break away from the worn out conventions... and claim the freedom of expression which any art must have to be alive?
