Quite possibly my favorite meal whenever I travel to Germany is Schnitzel, though my favorite take on schnitzel is Jägerschnitzel served with Spätzle noodles - which is more of an Austrian iteration on this tasty meal.

Wedding ceremony phase 2: Thai Rod Nam Sang (water blessing) is a community celebration of the couple in which family and friends use a conch shell to trickle blessed water over the fingertips of the couple as they give good fortune and best wishes.

In which I share the quirky stories and symbolism behind the dresses and accessories I wore for my wedding ceremonies (Western / Thai) last month. This post is the first in a series. ;)

Traveling in Egypt with fellow authors K Tempest Bradford & Alethea Kontis involved a lot of scampering through underground tunnels, some with lighting & some without. All of them had unique acoustics & that was a learning experience in sound I didn't expect!

January was chaos, in a beautiful way. I decided to let it be and not try to organize anything.

February is my experiment with how I'm going to change the way I do things in 2026...a little at a time.

Teen Piper once went on adventures with her older cousin from Chonburi to Sattahip and back again by motorcycle...which wasn't necessarily grandparent approved. >.>

One of Kuro’s powers as a kitsune in Fangs So Bright and Deadly is the ability to create pocket realities. Whenever I think about this ability, I think about the variety of fantastical experiences TeamLabs Borderless presented when we visited Japan a few years ago.

A few years ago, I visited the (old) national Egyptian Museum. The Tutankhamun Collection included a chest piece/amulet that inspired the object of myth and magic featured in Fangs So Bright and Deadly.

Here’s a selfie overlooking one of the main halls.

One of my cousins was a field biologist studying shrimp in both fresh water & salt water in Thailand. On one of my visits to one of the fisheries, she & her colleagues netted fish straight from the canal next to the fishery & made us the freshest fish I've ever had anywhere.

Some of the inspiration for Fangs So Bright and Deadly came from exploring with Alethea Kontis and K Tempest Bradford. The 3 of us climbed, crawled, & walked through 7 pyramids & countless tombs discussing Egyptian mythology and history and theories.

…they helped us get me on and off (asking me for my permission to touch my wheelchair first!) and directed me to the lifts.
They acted like it was SOP. It was incredibly special to me.

Shoutout to the Bangkok BTS (light rail) staff who were extremely helpful and warmly friendly as I navigated my first ride on the BTS in a wheelchair. Not only did they meet me at the elevator to help me to the right spot on the platform to board where there was a handicap space on the train…

I love writing in the scenic viewing car of a train when possible. It's soothing and a great place to get some writing sprints in.

There's a few key places around Seattle that inspired setting in Patricia Briggs' Alpha and Omega series. Piper Mommy is also a fan of Patty's writing, so it was fun to take Piper Mommy out on an electric boat to see some of those spots.
